State of the Art Vehicles and Equipment:

Mansfield Ambulance operates Richland County's largest ambulance fleet composed of ten advanced life support ambulances, each costing between $68,000 and $110,000. All are late model Ford and Chevrolet diesel ambulances manufactured by McCoy Miller and Horton Emergency Vehicles. These units are fully equipped for basic and advanced life support services. All units are equipped with 110 Volt power supply. Portable equipment includes:

  • Zoll "M" Series cardiac monitor/defibrillator/pacemaker units with non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP), capnography and 12 lead diagnostic EKG
  • Zoll "AED Plus" semi-automatic defibrillators
  • Zoll "AutoPulse" mechanical CPR compression devices
  • Full complement of medications for cardiac, respiratory & diabetic emergencies
  • Pulse oximetry measuring blood oxygen levels
  • Airway management kits & oxygen allowing support of all breathing related emergencies
  • AirTraq optical laryngoscopes for difficult intubations
  • Pediatric emergency kits with Broselow Tapes 
  • SSCOR Portable and onboard suction units to clear airways
  • Quick Clot hemostatic dressings for controlling severe bleeding
  • Spinal and long-bone immobilization equipment, backboards, traction splints, vacuum extremity splints
  • Communications equipment including MARCS or Multi-Agency Radio Communications System, VHF two-way radios for direct communication to area 9-1-1 dispatchers and hospital medical control and Verizon cell phones
  • FERNO ProFlexx cots
  • FERNO PowerFlexx cots with weight rating of 800# and LBS Large Body surface attachment for safe, efficient transport of bariatric patients.

MAS also operates a Chevy TrailBlazer ALS equipped supervisory vehicle, a Ford/Pierce heavy rescue unit equipped for Major Operations Support (i.e. Special Events, Mass-Casualty Incidents, firefighter rehab, Haz-Mat Medical), a Cub Cadet 4x4 utility vehicle equipped as an off-road ambulance and 3 Gary Fisher Marlin EMS Bicycles.
